I put my finger in the tape reel and look as the black ribbon disappears into the cassette. My fingers have become considerably bigger since the last time and it is not as easy to get the tape back. I take a pencil and it gets better. Some parts of the tape are damaged and remind of crimped hair. I hope it is not my favorite song that has disappeared. It was number 13.  The invention of compact discs have made life easier and notably more boring as well.
