Great job, pyscho. Your chapter rocks and rolls and I love fast paced stories. I gotta say, though, that "John" must be one helluva man to kill off an entire bottle of JD and still be able to crawl, much less drive and think about finding payphones...lol.

lol... wel, depends on the size of the bottle... and how long he'd been doin it... when I got out of the army I could put away a fifth of Jack and still function perfectly well, just had a hard time controlling the ole emotion machine, but I'm sure there are alot of people that know where I'm comin from with that, but, since you brought up that point, I need to address that in this chapter... thank you...

The size of the bottle was identified as a fifth.
Psycho, if you could polish off a fifth a night and still ‘function perfectly well’…then my friend, you’re not human. Ha-ha.
Seriously…a pint yes. But a fifth dude? What sort of functions are we talking about here? Throwing up? Pissing yourself? Both?
The character admits that if he tried to talk to the cops it would sound like a ‘drunken rant.’ That’s after ‘nearly a full bottle.’ If your speech is impaired then the rest of you most likely will be too.
The previous chapter had him sitting on the couch ‘sipping jack on the rocks’ while eating candy bars. It’s still early in the evening…and he’s already finished nearly a whole fifth…and he can still follow instructions that include driving? Hmm…
I guess if he’s been ‘sipping’ all day long then it could work.

But the ‘killing three of four fifths a night?’ no way.

Aside from that, great continuation. I loved the suspense and action.

Oh, I don't know if you need to address it. It was not so much a critique as a...well, duh-am!!
Besides, you're right, depending on the size of the bottle and length of time he'd been drinking...well, I've drunk myself "sober" on occasion...lol...long ago and far, far away!!

Very good follow-up, Psycho. I like the way you ratcheted up the excitement level. Looks like we got ourselves a race against time! Now I've got to mash it and try to maintain that intensity. I will have to think about this one for a little while. Great work!
