The story so far:
“Hey, Cleric, did you see anything while you were meditating?”
“Yeah, did you?”
“You really have to stop asking questions like that. Of course I did. What did you see?”
“I saw the cave and the green orb. It felt the same, smelled the same. It was like I was there, but you weren’t. What did you see?”
“The same thing as you, only I saw the red orb and you weren’t there.”
“Do you think we should go back?”
“I don’t know, probably not…but I really want that red orb.”
“I do too, but the green orb.”
Raiden and Cleric looked back at Master Shomuyo who was still staring at the stars.
“Tonight while he is sleeping…we’re going back,” Raiden said.
Master Shomuyo looked down at them.
“Oh, you’re done eating…good. You boys did well today; I didn’t expect you to be able to meditate that long, let alone concentrate. You must have meditated for hours; well over what I can handle. I must say it’s highly irregular, but very promising. Well do more tomorrow. I’m sure you boys will be done with all your training in a week or so…you must be tired, come on. Let’s go home.”
Cleric and Raiden stood and followed him through the woods. As they passed the cave, Cleric and Raiden slowed down.
“Don’t straggle along boys,” Master Shomuyo said.
They sped up and walked the rest of the way home without delay. They walked into the quiet house and down the long dark hallway to their room. Their eyes had adjusted by the time they had reached their room so when they walked into the room they saw most of their things. Master Shomuyo walked into the room a second later holding a candle. He handed it to Cleric who walked across the room and placed it on the dresser.
“Good night,” Master Shomuyo said as he left the room.
Cleric and Raiden went to their beds and lay down. Raiden leaned over the edge of his bed and looked at Cleric.
“How?” Cleric asked.
“Cleric, don’t worry. We have enough time to figure it out. By then he’ll be sleeping,” Raiden said trying to comfort Cleric a bit.
“Fine, but do you remember how to get there?”
There was a long pause.
“I remember that we walked in the woods for a while…straight…and that there were lots of turns…and trees. It was a while before we got to the cave.”
“We have to find it…I want that green orb,” Cleric said impatiently.
Raiden looked at the ground and thought for a second, then looked back at Cleric who stared at the wall. There was a faint sound.
“Wait, follow me,” Raiden said.
Cleric followed Raiden to the door slowly. They walked into the hallway and stopped. There was a grunting sound.
“Is he sleeping?” Cleric asked.
“Yeah, let’s go,” Raiden said.
“But we don’t know where it is.”
“We’ll find out,” Raiden said as he shot through the hallway to the front door. Cleric ran after Raiden out of the front door and closed it quietly as Raiden continued to run ahead.
“Wait for me!” Cleric yelled lightly.
