“I’ve heard legends…continue.”

“Ok. So he gave me the swords and told me that I had the power to control some phantom he had next to him…change the swords form into one heavy and longer sword…and…that was about it.”

“I assure you…there are many more attributes than what he told you. What was his name?”

“His name was Desian.”

“…Desian? What did Cleric’s tablet say?”

“I don’t know.”

“But Desian was said…to be …evil…Why would he give you his…it just doesn’t make sense.”

“I don’t know.”

“I know that…but how are you the one who ended up good? Do you know who Cleric encountered?”

“Yes. When he…killed you…he told me that he had received the white sword from a guy named Hothgard.”

“HOTHGARD! IMPOSSIBLE! Hothgard is the one said to be the protector of the human race, and Desian, his brother exact opposite! THIS IS NOT RIGHT!”

“What’s wrong?”

“Hothgard is not evil…Desian is. But here you are…good, and Cleric evil.”

“Who are Desian and Hothgard?”

“There are many stories that have been told. I have always believed that the truth was in the one I knew…but now, I don’t know anymore.”

“What was the story you heard?”

“In the beginning…the earth was without form. There was one entity that created everything there is. He created both man and woman. Then he created the creatures. He gave the man and woman knowledge so they could govern the world and grow. Then he realized that something was wrong. When the man and the woman had their first two children, they started to argue. The woman was only to have one child, but instead they had two. They named the two Desian, the oldest, and Hothgard. Both grew up in two different ways. Hothgard was a good child who always did what he was told, yet Desian was the one who never listened and hated his brother. When they reached their teen years they started to show strange behavior. Both of them had gained powers that their parents could not understand. Hothgard gained the power of light, while Desian gained the power of darkness. One day Desian got so mad that he used his power against his brother. Both he and his brother were equal in their power. The fight went on for days. Eventually the father got tired of it and ran into the middle to stop the fight. His mother who feared for the life of her loved one ran to stop him. They had run right into another clash between their children and were killed. The fight stopped there and the two parted. They went to different parts of the earth. Hothgard eventually gained the power to reproduce life with light. He recreated man and woman. They continued to reproduce and populated the world. Hothgard was rarely seen. They say he hid in the light of the sun and protected the people from the evil that his brother Desian brought to them by the moon light. Certainly this was the Desian from the story…but no where near what he was said to be.”
