A Rush of Magenta  by Norcia

Watercolory colors drift across the sky

as the sun fades and night introduces itself

yet again.

Shy and misty hues of lavender, cotton candy pink, and pearlescent periwinkle

wash over each other in the gently darkening sky,

dancing and weaving dreamily past the marshmallow clouds

in trance-like fashion.

Wispy rays of light flash beneath the heavens,

struggling to be noticed amid the seductive swirls of pastel.

A rush of magenta rises in the background,

glorious and majestic beyond measure.

Its purplish pink richness is so intense, so blinding,

that the other colors

seem to disappear like the sun itself.
