Through shadows and tears we look back at what was.

Shadows are a reflection of what we once were

and maybe still are

and maybe will always be.

No one ever changes.

Or can they?

Tears are a reflection of regrets

and losses

and dreams that never came true.

But can they still?

Shadows and tears wash over each other

like murky grey watercolors

that have no color,

no life to speak of.

The dark night that is the past

fades into light,

and we start over again,

struggle again,

until the shadows and tears are no more.
