Why does so much in life revolve around the number seven?

We have seven days in a week.

Seven colors in the rainbow

Seven continents

Seven deadly sins

Seven wonders of the world

The seventh son of the seventh son or the seventh daughter of the seventh daughter is

     believed to have otherworldly powers.

Seven is considered to be a lucky number.

Writers and movie makers are fascinated with the number seven.

Once upon a time, there was a movie called "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers."

Snow White had seven dwarf friends.

James Bond's number is 007.

Makes me feel sorry for all of the other numbers.

Poor things! They must feel neglected and unwanted.

Can you imagine how jealous they must be?

Could they be plotting something sinister behind seven's back?

"Let's gang up on that creep!" Number One says. "Why does he have to get all the

     attention?"

"Yeah, really!" Number Four shouts.

"You hold his arms behind his back while I beat him up," Number Six proposes.

"No way," Number Two says. "Beating's too good for him."

"Let's lynch him!" Number Five exclaims.

"I say we stab him," Number Nine says. "Seven times!"

"Now THAT'S poetic justice," Number Eight says with a nod.

"Yeah, and then we'll chop him into seven pieces and dump them in the ocean in the middle

     of the night, when no one will see us," says Number Three.

"I'll do it," Number One tells them. "I'm one of the only ones here with a pointed head."

Whoa, talk about nasty!

If I were the number seven, I would sleep with one eye open.
