Chapter 1 (draft)  by Nayenel

Chapter 1

I peered out the window to see Mike waiting for me. He drives me to school every day even when he home schools.  His dad invents cars for a living and he specially made Mike and I one. My car needed some usage. Well I scurried down the stairs to discover my mom at the bottom.

“Savannah, we need to talk." My mom stated.

        "About what?" I asked.

“Life here in Utah." She replied.

"Okay." If it is about my dad hating Mike, I already know that.

        ”We’re moving."

        "You're kidding, right?" I chuckled.

“No I'm not, we are moving to California."

“Well okay you know I have to go."

When I stepped outside, I felt like screaming. Really, we're moving to California. I lived in Salina, Utah since I was three.  When Mike saw me he did a "come here" gesture. Should I tell Mike?  Wait, why shouldn't I?  I knew him for like forever. He'll end up getting his folks to live there and until then he'll live in an abandon house. How I know this? Mike and I planed this a long time ago for an occasion like this.

" What took so long? I’ve been here for a whole two minutes!" Asked Mike when I got close.

”I just found out I'm moving to California." I replied.

”Well, at least we know what to do."

I just smiled as we both entered the car. His car is amazing! The outside of it is red. Inside the car haves grey seats, a TV with satellite, satellite radio, coffee maker, a mini fridge, built-in computers, and the seats are massaging chairs, and I'm not talking about a van, it is a normal looking car at least in the outside.

We finally reached the school in about five minutes. I took one long good look at the school. The next three months I'm going to be in California finishing this grade and going on to the next and the next. Won't that be exciting! School went by too fast. The whole time though, I was stressing about the move. Really I don't want to move. When I got in Mike's Car, I felt relief going through me.

"Mike," I started. "Can we drop the car off at my house and go straight off flying?"

"Sure, I guess. Why?" Mike asked.

"I want to get away from home right now."

He nodded his head like if he was trying to say he understood. Which he didn't.  He never had to deal  with this.
