Better Wet Than Never: Chapter 2  by MiddleBlocker

Wide-eyed and in a state of pure shock, I stumbled onto my back in order to look at what I was facing. To my dismay, the room was out of reach from my frantic and searching eyes. I couldn't see a thing!

Fear struck me. Hard.

Why were my legs unwilling to move? It's always in the most important situations that things tend to disfunction.

My veins were pumping blood at a dangerously high rate and I could feel the beads of sweat collecting on my forehead as I tried to use my foot's grip on the floor to propel my body backward.

The slick cement floor provided no traction for my rubber-soled shoes.

One of the glowing eyes appeared a couple feet away from me, on the left.

The eyeball grew larger as it came closer. My eyebrows must've raised a mile up my forehead. My throat searched for a voice. My mouth moved but no sound came out.

Panic-stricken, my mind disabled itself.

Thoughts weren't processing; fear was jamming up the cogs of my brain.

Finally, a squeaky, high-pitched scream lurched from my lips with a deep intensity, lightly echoing in the distance.

The sound of a police siren far off, on the road where my car was parked, filled my ears. The slightest gleam of hope made its way to my heart.

Someone heard my scream.

The siren got louder and louder. Then, like a gift from Satan, the sound began retreating farther and farther away.

Then it hit me.

No one was coming for me. Whatever I was going to do to get out of this situation, I was going to have to do for myself.

My muscles were frozen from the intense cold in this pitch black room. Moving currently was not an option. My first step was figuring out what it was, exactly, that inhabited the space in front of me.
