Step Aside (Poem)  by Marykm

Not numb in my head

Not numb in my soul

I try to speak out

You try to control

I push you away

But you follow with rage

You pretend to be innocent

I'm locked in this cage

Well, who are you

To tell me that I need to change?

I don't need your advice

You're out of my range

If you think you're cool

Just get out of my face

You're not winning the game

Life isn't a race

You need help

But it won't be from me

While you're sitting here weeping

I'll be running free

See, there's a day

When your deeds all come up to par

Will this be good or bad?

You won't be getting far

Not to be rude

But you're in my way

Step out, if you please

I'm not going to stay

I'm tired of you

And all those that control

You lead only in your life

But it's mine you stole
