Kehanah Lee scanned through her day's work. It was too early to be at work, but she had nothing better to do. Her friend Sasha-lei (Saleia for short) was still injured and in the hospital from the accident. Her boyfriend was dead from it. Her boss was filing papers for both of the former employees, who had worked at the contracting company for years.
She sighed when she heard the door open. She had been enjoying the serene environment. Josh, the clown of the office group, poked his head into her office. "Your up early! How's Saleia?" he said with an overly cheerful tone. His broad, fake looking smile made Kehanah clench her teeth to keep from complaining about it.
"She's... getting better. I- what are you doing here so early?" Kehanah sputtered.
Josh's smile was dimmed. "I wanted to finish my tasks early today to go to Nikki's party. Are you going to come to it?" he said.
Kehana averted her eyes. "I... wasn't invited," she said quietly. Josh seemed to always put her in one of these awkward situations.
"Oh. Well, maybe you can visit Saleia or drop by Lio's grave..." Josh began to carelessly say.
Kehana winced at the name Lio. "Don't mention him to me. I'm not over it yet," she said with an edge.

After work, Kehanah visited Saleia. The secretary at the hospital rolled her eyes when tears stung at Kehana's face. She wasn't really involved in the accident. But she didn't stop her boyfriend from driving in the pouring rain.
Saleia wasn't doing better. She was getting worse. She wasn't just getting worse, she was dying. Kehanah held her hand and gave a weak smile. "Are you feeling o.k?" she asked.
Saleia faltered. "I wrote you in my will. I want to be buried by husband or my brother," she stated.
Kehanah's hand trembled more than Saleia's. Her heart was failing, arteries were ruined, and her brain was severely damaged. "Have hope! If you do... part with us, then I will make sure it happens. But please don't count on it, Saleia!" she cried.
"If I don't plan on it, people can simply claim what they want. I need to set things aside properly. I am counting on it, Kehanah. There is a seven percent chance of my life going on for longer than three months," Saleia replied calmly.

A month later all of her relatives and friends were sitting in one room, hearing of what had been left behind by Saleia for them. The man read it off clearly.
He stated, "To Josh, 10% of all worldly items and 1,000 dollars. Nikki will receive 20% of all worldly items and 2,300 dollars. Sharoll will receive..." he continued for many minutes until he finally came to Kehanah's name. He said, "Kehanah will receive 50% of all worldly items, the property in which Saleia had previously resided in, 20,000 dollars, and will be responsible for Saleia's children..." Kehanah jerked her head up. She was being given the children?
