Prologue.

It’s been well over 4 years since the law to apprehend each and every Homunculus within the Holy Empire had been enacted. Since then, a total of 1 million Homunculi had been captured by the both the Imperial and Haven Church Governments. 

The existence of the Homunculi goes back to the Era of False Worship. These mysterious beings had appeared after the Gods that had came to guide humanity had suddenly perished. The humans had sought to use the Homunculi to fight the offspring of demons, the vampires and werewolves. These creatures were strong and powerful and could potentially rival the powers of the monsters, but in time, the Homunculi craved more and more power. They had developed a thirst for blood and revenge after being mistreated by the very beings that had given them everything.

So the humans, with the magic and knowledge given to them by the Gods, had decided to wage yet another war in retaliation. The war was dubbed, “The World Renewal”. They had committed genocide against them, in the end, man was successful. But this was only the beginning of their suffering. Over 100 years later, cases of humans undergoing mysterious changes were reported all over the world. And humanity received the bad news. The Homunculi had returned, as the offspring of humans. The reason was unknown…

As the Era of False Worship ended, most of humanity had come to accept the existence of the Homunculus. But the Haven Church within the Holy Empire had remained firm in their pro-human teaches and their ideal world where humanity was superior. But the Imperial Government, like all other foreign governments had let bygones be bygones after the Renewal War and had come to accept that the world was meant to be shared by all. 

This had sparked controversy within the Empire. The 2 Governments that had once worked together had slowly grown apart due to conflicting philosophy. The Church had accused the Imperial Family, the ones who influenced a large portion of the public to share their ideals, of worshipping Mathias, The Goddess of Darkness who was known as a mother to the monsters of the world. 

As the controversy continued, more and more people started to see the church as condescending and controlling. In other words, they were still stuck in the past. A past where controlling the masses was something the masses themselves didn’t even realize. This also applied to the Imperial Family. 

Even though the King or the Queen would have nearly absolute power, the church had ways of controlling them as well. The Papess in charge of the church would always be right, because she was the mouthpiece of Reanna, Goddess of Light. As such, it was her job to see that the church held supreme power. The church had held all the cards, but now, they found that their power was slipping from their grasp. But soon enough, the church saw an opportunity to seize the power they had lost.

Queen Catherine’s 1st born son Prince William was a man who had a very strong passion for the Haven Religion. However, Prince William was soon proven to be an illegitimate child. The true heir to the throne was the Queen’s 15-year-old daughter, Princess Isabella. So the bastard Prince and the Cardinals of the church devised a plan. You see, Queen Catherine was very ill, so she wouldn’t have much time left to live in the world and Isabella was only a child. And a child wouldn’t know the 1st thing about how to rule a vast and powerful Empire. 

Prince William who was a very religious man who was dedicated to the Haven Church’s teachings would worm his way into the heart and mind of his little sister. He would convince her to make him Prime Minister. He would then manipulate her into letting the church control the laws of the masses so they could be free to spread fear and violence. They would have the opportunity to victimize the Homunculi… once again.
