I had just made it to Alex's house and it was about 3:50 AM New Year's Day. I parked my silver honda civic on the curb and bounced out of the car. I made my way to his ground level window. My high heels pierced the frozen ground. The night was cold, and I was freezing in my black sweater. I dialed his number again from my cellphone. It was my eighth time calling since I left Stan's party. I looked into the window and I saw his phone light up. I pushed my ear to the cold glass, but there was no sound. I quitely began tapping on the window. I knew his sister was upstairs asleep. I started tapping more and more, but there was no sound. I quickly called again on my phone. The phone kept ringing and ringing and ringing , but Alex wouldn't move. In frustration I smacked the glass window and it made a loud noise. Inside I heard Alex yell out for someone to leave him alone. He must've thought it was his parents knocking on his bedroom door. In tears I slowly walked towards my car. I felt so angry and I didn't want to go home until I had talked to him. I eyed the wooden bench in his yard. I sat on the bench and closed my eyes. The night was getting colder and it started to snow. All I kept thinking was "How did this happen?", "We can't be over yet." I was not sure what to do next. I didn't want to go home to my parents who would be angry with me for drinking alcohol. I couldn't get caught doing that; to make matters worse I drove to Alex's house intoxicated. "I should've stayed at Stan's house," I thought to myself. "God!, I can't believe I slept with him tonight, Alex and I had only been broken up for a few hours." I felt so much anger rise inside me. "Why would Alex ruin us?" I said softly into the answerless night. I ran back to the window. I started tapping on the window again. "I am such a whore!" I thought to myself. Depsite my continous efforts to awake Alex, there was no stirring in his dark room. I walked back to my car, got inside, cursed, and then I drove away.
