My name is Boot
by LadyAdelia
My name is Boot
I was born in a place cold and cruel.
The wind blew strong and the rain fell long.
I’ve travelled far and tire not
I live on the foot of madam dear
I run with the one who keeps me near.
I eat the cold from icy feet and
Swallow whole the need for heat
Protecting tender soft pink skin
I stop halfway up the shin.
Mother Comfort taught me well.
That I am favored all can tell.
Sleep comes to me when work is done.
I lay in peace out of the sun.
I dream of freshly fallen snow.
I dream of places hard and low.
I dream of many moments when I can protect my madam’s skin.
