Chapter 8: Someone Who Understands

Students: Greetings master                                                                

Disciple: Greetings, how is everything?

Students: good master. And who might you be

Goso: I’m Goso ying

Pinkstripe: and you can call me Pinkstripe.

Students #1: My name is Jake Blade.

Student #2: My name is Wilson Reid.

Student #3: and my name is Mary Norman.

Goso: so how long have you guys been students in Disciple’s Dojo?

Wilson: we all joined at different times. Mary actually was the first student of all of us.

Pinkstripe: so how is it like training with Disciple?

Mary: it’s amazing at first Disciple seems a little intimidating but once you get to train with him you begin to understand him along with yourself.

Goso them began to smile thinking to himself he has finally found a place he can call home. Later that day Goso was training by himself in a nearby forest. While he was training he was spotted by Mary who had been watching him for some time. She startled Goso when she approached him:

Goso: (just a little more. I have to be able to master this technique so I could get stronger.)

Mary: …um Goso.

Goso: ahh! Oh it’s you. Don’t scare me like that.

Mary: sorry I just wanted to see how you were doing.

Goso: I’m fine, just training as always.

Mary: man you work so hard. I wish I could train as hard as you can, I’m so envious of you.

Goso: you shouldn’t be. I’m sure you have parents that love you, friends who trust you and people who look up to you. I lost all of that. If anyone should be envious it should be me.

Mary: (smiling)…I lost my parents, actually all of us students did. I…lost my one and only friend during a raid in our village and I have nobody else in my life beside Disciple and us students. Goso you are not alone. We are here to fill the void of emptiness you feel.

Goso: (clinching his fist) How…

Mary: how what?

Goso: how can all that happen to you……and …and you’re able to smile so easily? Do you not feel pain? Does it not affect you!!?

Mary: I just tell myself that the only medicine for stress is happiness and friendship. And Disciple Jack and Wilson bring me happiness as my friends.

Goso: …but I never feel happy because I betrayed my best friend and I know he will never look at me the same way again.

Mary: if he isn’t willing to forgive you then can you really call him a friend? I made my fair share of mistakes but Disciple and the others always forgave me. We all make mistakes Goso, nobody’s perfect.

Goso: …I never thought about it that way. I guess I was so stressed out because before I met Pinkstripe, Metsu was the only friend I had. We did everything together and looked out for each other. Sorry for getting mad before I think…no I know we are going to be good friends

Mary: I know so too. Maybe at some point we can be more than friends.

Goso (while blushing) …yeah…maybe.

Mary then begins laughing. After their conversation they went back to the Dojo. Goso and Pinkstripe stayed the remainder of the night. As this was going on Metsu was finally starting to get the hang of his training. X then came by to see how he was doing. X said:

X: how’s it going Metsu?

Metsu: see for yourself.

Metsu did a couple of slashes in the air and was able to do it at an incredible speed. X was amazed by the progress Metsu was showing. X said:

X: so you’re finally getting the hang of it.

Metsu: yeah. It took some time but I think I’m finally getting used to this sword.

X: ok now that you can swing the sword let me teach you my fighting style and how to use my killer instinct technique.

Metsu: killer instinct?

X: it’s a tech that allows me to change my personality completely making it so that my mindset is set on killing my opponent and nothing else.

Metsu: why would I want to learn that. I mean I know I want to beat Onix, but to kill him, I don’t know it just doesn’t seem right.

X: look Metsu you can’t be soft when it comes to Onix. If you want to “defeat him” then you have to “kill him” only then can you achieve victory.

Metsu: but is victory more important than my morals?

X: in this case yes it is. If you want to avenge your brother than this is the path you must take.

Metsu: ………alright, teach me the tech.

X: I knew you’d see it my way.

And with that Metsu’s personality begins to change by becoming slightly darker than before. The next day Goso and Pinkstripe packed their bags and met up with Disciple. They were on their way to a nearby town and went to get supplies for the Dojo.

Goso and Pinkstripe: goodbye.

Mary: see you guys later.

Wilson: don’t take too long.

Jack: while you’re there get me some food.

Disciple: (that fool, always thinking of food)

So Disciple and the others left and halfway through the journey Disciple noticed that Goso had an unusual sword. Disciple said:

Disciple: Goso, What is that you are carrying?

Goso: it’s a sword my father used before he died. It looks like glass but is really powerful.

Disciple: where did he get it from?

Goso: I don’t know? Why is it special or something?

Disciple: fool. That is a glass weapon.

Pinkstripe: Glass weapon? Now I think your just making up stuff. Anyway is it a sacred sword also?

Disciple: no it’s a completely different thing. Long ago a little after the man vs. beast wars ended a crystal palace fell from the sky. From that palace there were 10 weapons said to be crafted by gods themselves. It is said to be unbreakable. Didn’t you know?

Goso: no. I keep it as a memento.

Pinkstripe: does it have a spirit like the sacred swords?

Disciple: no that’s what makes them weaker than the sacred swords. But unlike sacred swords these weapons can absorb light and release it. And in addition to that not all the glass weapons are swords there are a huge variety of glass weapons ranging from axes to bows and so on. Um let me ask you something. Do you have a spirit infused with you?

Goso: yeah I got the white dragon of light’s spirit infused in me at the age of 3. I can communicate to him but only telepathically?

Disciple: Really? Well there is a way to make your sword as powerful as the sacred sword.

Goso: how?

Disciple: by performing a double fusion.

Pinkstripe: what’s a double fusion?

Disciple: A double fusion is when you fuse a spirit to a weapon and human at the same time giving the wielder the ability to use the spirits abilities through the weapon. Since you already have a spirit it’s more like a single fusion of combining your spirit to the sword. I could help you if you want.

Goso: yeah sure let’s do it.

Disciple: well just put your sword on the floor and sit in front of it and I’ll do the rest.

Goso: ok.

Disciple absorbed all his energy and drew a spiritual circle surrounding Goso. A bright light surrounded Goso and after a minor five minutes Goso was able to wield the glass weapon and able use all the dragons’ abilities through his sword. After they get their supplies Goso and the others go back to the Dojo and decided to put their wandering to a halt for now. While they were their Goso and Mary decided to spend some time together. Goso and Mary were both taking a walk together. Goso said:

Goso: what do you usually like to do during your free time?

Mary: I like taking long walks on the beach every now and then.

Goso: maybe one of these days we could go together on a beach. My treat.

Mary: aww that’s sweet. Sure I would love to.

Goso: um how do you feel about Jake and Wilson?

Mary: they’re both my close friends. I think of those two as my brothers.

Goso: what about me? Do you think of me as your brother?

Mary: no not really. You’re sweet but I knew Wilson and Jake for a long time. I don’t know you that well.

Goso: oh…

Mary: but I want to get to know you better because I think your kind of cute.

Goso: (blushing) really?

Mary: yeah.

Goso: so you want to go out for dinner or something.

Mary: sure.

Goso and Mary then went to the Bahamut clan restaurant to eat dinner. They began telling eachother stories and for the first time since he started his journey all of Goso’s problems didn’t matter at that point. After dinner Goso and Mary went back to the Dojo and went to sleep. The next day Goso then trains with Disciple exclusively so he can learn how to control his abilities and when the time was right, face Sun. After 3 months of training Metsu and Goso finish training and both prepare to Fight Sun once and for all. Metsu is dressed in new attire. Goso also became much closer to Mary during those three months going out on dates almost every day. Whenever Goso wasn’t training they usually eating dinner or taking long walks on a beach. they are official a couple now and have been so for 2 months. Both Metsu and Goso are leaving their destination to make their way to the solar system swordsmen’s hideout. Metsu and X make a small stop in an unknown village destroyed recently when they noticed a young blue haired women wearing a green tunic sobbing in the corner.
