That last line was supposed to read "starless SKY". Lousy Microsoft Word. |

The only thing I need is some really good music, the problem is that listening to the same music over and over again makes me start to lose my edge and it shows in my work. Right now, I'm using the recently released soundtrack from "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles". It. Is. Amazing! But after a couple weeks its effect will wear off and I'll have to find something new (which may not happen for months at a time!). |

I'll definitely be expanding the shortened parts now that there's no pressure on cutting down the length and detail. I actually have a very good reason/excuse for the part about it wrapping up too neatly (mainly the unnamed stranger showing up at JUST the right moment to save Amy and Chris from total evisceration), but giving it away now would be a huge spolier. I'll say this much about him; That character has already been introduced and named and his story will be one of pure guilt and self-torture. I'm hoping to make huge waves when the big reveal comes around, but it won't be for a while. lol I think my talent for gore came from all the gory games I play. And they say video games are bad for you. Pah! |

I just got featured today and I totally forgot how the process is done. Making it random kinda takes away from the satisfaction of finding out you've been featured...but then again...a lot of good stories go by completely unnoticed and SHOULD be featured to get attention. Isn't it at all possible to make two different featured sections? My idea is we keep the old one to help those that manage to fly under the radar, but make another featured section for the truly superb chapters there by adding a real sense of accomplishment to those that get it. Not only that, but it may encourage writers to really perfect what they made to attract more attention. Having a prize to shoot for could only help us try to improve ourselves. That's just my two cents, though. |

Sorry...I wasn't trying to gloat...I'm just super stoked...^_^; Anyway, I'm reworking the original document as we speak and I'll probably repost it as if it were a new story. Not because I wanna double post, but it would just be easier to redo the whole thing and repost the entire improved version in five sections (because it'll probably be THAT much longer). I'm glad you liked the tempur-pedic joke, shadinah. As much as I was trying to write something scary and creepy, I just can't write anything without some of my humor in it. There was another part I removed about TJ commenting on a flat-panel TV and a Blu-Ray player being in his room in part 2, but I felt it would've killed the joke. To be honest, I really have no idea how I managed to make this story so...good. I mean, if you compare this to Eternal Soul it's vastly different. I wish I could recall the mindset I was in back then and force it on the things I'm doing now. Then again, the first Eternal Soul was finished like a year ago and I've grown a lot as writer since then. Okay...I'm babbling now. My deepest and sincerest thanks to whoever decided to feature the start of my short story and I'll do my best to keep writing material equal to or better than this. |

Holy crap! I'm featured! How did THAT happen?! Seriously! Should I leave the story alone, though? Could adding more make it worse? This is awesome!!! |

For years I've hammered away on Eternal Soul and changed almost everything but the core and some key events more times than I can count. Along the way, I've gotten other ideas inspired by past ideas and created short stories and full-fledged novels for almost every idea. The result so far ends with 26 other stories/books all stemming from the original 10 book series I'm working on. This includes side stories happening before, after, or alongside others while not directly being seen in the others' story, an entire series taking place in an alternate world starring alternate versions of the original characters, and a prequel about one of my most complicated and favorite villains in the series, Megirus. I guess what I wanna know is if anyone else has ever done this or if it's even a good idea? It's definitely been done before, but the most famous example would have to be the Marvel Multiverse. I didn't actually mean to do it, it just sorta happened and I kept writing and planning. Thoughts? Comments? |

I didn't mean it wasn't skilled...I think I meant "proper". I hope I didn't sound like a douche just then. lol. I still love it, tho. |

I didn't even realize I used those two words in the same paragraph?! lmao! I'll go back and reedit that little oopsie there. About the rushing part, I tried my best to condense the whole history I put together as much as possible. My cousin never said there was a page limit, but I didn't wanna make it too long. Which proved futile anyway because my story was the longest in the class by ten pages! lol. But I guess I can go back now and put back in what I originally took out. |

Something I whipped up while at work. We've all had the same moment where we seem lost and frozen in time thinking about how and why we got stuck there. This is about getting out.

An old mansion. A ghost tale. A spirit older than time. These are all things Amy McKinley deals with on an almost everyday basis as a paranormal investigator. However, her trip to Shadow Hills may prove to be more than the average ghost story.

The entire point of this "chapter" is to get the reader to ask a hundred questions about the story and terminology before understanding it all. It reads like the last chapter, but in actuality, it's the second to last! Enjoy!
