The story so far:
Day 2 came and I wasn't so nervous. I chucked on any work clothes, some make-up and did my hair as per usual. I didn't think that it mattered today after all, the big boss seemed to like me and I knew that 3 out of the 4 of his sons didn't think I was too bad. The 4th however...well I had been told that he spent a lot of the time in the sheds out back and so I assumed that meant I wouldn't see him much anyway. But again my assumptions were wrong...
After parking in the disabled park (which a few days later was dubbed as mine), I made my way inside. I still had a few nerves but this time they were mainly actual work related. Anyway I walked around the front counter to the office door and guess who I slammed right into... yes, it was the one person I was not mean to see and guess what I did... of course I dropped everything I was holding onto. This caused a huge sound and I then didn't only attract the 'brick wall' I ran into, but everyone else in the office as well. So of course my face turned red and I couldn't look anyone in the eye... well I did once and caught sight of the brownest eyes I had ever seen starting into mine with concern and a hint of humour.
"Hi," he said in that deep, gorgeous voice of his. And of course I stammered out a few incoherent words that even I didn't understand.
So that was the start of my second day. I lost count of the amount of times I saw 'him' that day and that was just before lunchtime!
I went to lunch feeling a little more confident. Although it was only my second day, I had found out that the people I worked for and with were real teasers. Many jokes had already been made about me falling for the youngest boss/son/brother. And I'd finally got control of myself enough to comment back on the teasing and do my own little share of teasing.
About 2 hours before I was due to finish my second day, I was knocked off my feet again. This time not literally. I had been innocently working at my desk when I heard footsteps and looked up to see him enter the office again. Shaking my head slightly, I went back to work with a smile on my face.
Suddenly the other office lady spoke to him. "So you still got that girlfriend of yours?" She asked having no problem seemingly sticky-beaking into his personal life. I sensed eyes on my and looked up to see that both of them were now looking at me. I frowned in confusing knowing that the question had not been directed at me. And then came his answer...
"No," he said, "I just broke up with her this morning." All the while, his eyes were almost locked with mine.
"Why?" asked the other lady.
"Oh well," he started, "it's good to be free to look again and plus I seem to get along with some other people who I've only just met better than I was getting along with her."
My face reddened and my eyes broke away from his and returned to my page. I wanted to think of something smart to say, some sort of teasing comment, but I couldn't register a thing as his words were replaying over and over in my head.
I heard a laugh coming from the other office lady and then the 'really?' comment she made in response. I tried to keep my head down and face hide as much as possible but his "yep" answer caused me to look up and get eye contact with him again. This time it felt like I couldn't look away but thankfully the phone rang and before I knew it, the two hours were up and my second day was over...
