Thanks, Persephonie. With regard to your second comment, I fully agree that the new plot requires some fleshing out, something that might require a longer piece of fiction. As to your first comment, I really don't feel that a "motive," as such, needs to be established at this point. Chapter 1 introduces an element of the supernatural to the story, which I think can be continued. Thus, I am envisioning the "killer" more as a supernatural manifestation of the characters' guilt than a corporeal being.
