The Proud Loner  by HiddenCounter

I am a loner, a proud loner.  I have always been in the honor classes, but they are too safe and cautious for my liking.   The jocks, well I always liked sports, they are an admirable thing to get into, but the people who play them at the high school level are pretentious.  I have always been alone, and that is the way I like it.  If some one does not like the gays I act gay.  It is what I do best, be an ****.

Some people do it much better then I do, I have been followed around by a kid named Martin, he keeps shooting spitballs at me and trying to break me.  I carefully figured out what he likes and what he does.  Oh, how I do love the internet.  Keeping me in the loop and helping me be an ****.  I walked up to Martin with a grin half a mile wide and said in a tone that could not be imitated “I wouldn’t mess with me, a kid who consistently has thoughts about blowing up the school, and how easy it would be to kill someone and not get caught.  I have these thoughts; I could kill you without hesitation.  I won’t, not yet, you haven’t done anything warranting your death.  Push me too far; I might lose my moral code.”

“Dude, what’s wrong with you.  Stay away from me, I don’t want trouble.”

“And your band lacks creative structure, you should probably leave now.”

I left with a smile that wouldn’t go away, I think I am just going to head out early, my math class is only reviewing anyways.   About twenty-minutes of walking I finally arrived at my house.   My mom was waiting at the door, I didn’t know what she wanted, this is bad.

“We need to talk. Why are you home early anyways?”

“I got an A on a test and I was celebrating. What do you want?”

“Your grandpa David died, he was in an explosion, his boat actually.”

“No, you are lying! How did this happen!”

“His friend Frank was trying to fix the engine and he messed up some how.”

“I hate that guy.  I am going in my room, don’t bother me.”

“Your school called too, they said you threatened a kid with his life, you need to talk to the principal.”

“I will tomorrow, don’t talk to me.”

He got me into sports and learning.  My grandpa was a great man, and knowing people, some of them will cope with it by demonizing him.
