Wherever Life Takes Me  by HalieOshiro
Chapter Seven:
The Family Meeting

An after party of Matthew’s Eagle Court was being held at the Fuller house hold. David Packard Jr. and Sarah Fuller were missing in action. Matthew was worried, he had a feeling they went off in the back of the house and were arguing. Sandy saw the worried look on his face and pulled Matthew aside and said, “Matthew honey, what’s on your mind?” “Nothing Aunt Sandy, I was just thinking.” “Matthew!” “Okay okay, it’s my parents.” As soon as he said that he heard in the garage his parents arguing.
David was yelling at Sarah and Sarah was yelling back. David was yelling when Matthew and Sandy started listening. “What the heck were you thinking?! He’s our son! And you left him with your sister and mom! And you know I don’t like it when you just throw OUR SON on them! They have their own lives! Your sister is trying to settle down in a relationship! Your mom has already raised six kids, including yourself! Give them a break!” “You’re right,” began Sarah “I threw our son on them, but it’s not my fault he doesn’t like my fiancé Adam!”
Matthew opened up the door, Sandy had told him to break them up before it gets bad. Matthew walked in the garage acting like he was getting a soda. He looked at his parents and asked sarcastically, “Family meeting?” “No need to be sarcastic Matthew,” said Sarah. “But the three of us need to talk,” said David looking like he was going to cry. “But, not here,” said Sarah. “Get on AIM later, we’ll talk there,” sad David. David and Sarah hugged Matthew goodbye.
Everyone except for Corey had left. Matthew was sitting there telling Connie, Sandy, and Corey what was about to go down. Connie went to go get Matthew something to eat and drink. Matthew saw his dad log on and then his mom.

ArmyManDavid: Hey Matthew, Sarah.
SarahFuller: Matthew, David.
EagleScoutMatthew721: Hey mom. Hey dad. What's going on?
SarahFuller: Well....
ArmyManDavid: What your mom is trying to say is that, we're not the best of parents. And before going into the garage tonight, we talked with your grandma. How do you feel about living there instead of with your mom and Adam?
EagleScoutMatthew721: Do I have a choice?
SarahFuller: Yeah you do.
ArmyManDavid: It's up to you son.
EagleScoutMatthew721: I'd rather stay with grandma.
ArmyManDavid: I thought you would. May we ask why?
EagleScoutMatthew721: Yeah, I can't stand Adam. Now that I'm an Eagle Scout, I need to think about my future. I may be a junior in high school but I need to think about what my school calls The After Life. And Adam's already bugging me about what college am I going too.
SarahFuller: Oh, why didn't you tell me that before?
EagleScoutMatthew721: Because mom, I didn't want to hurt you.

In the midst of this Matthew had tears rolling down his face. Connie, Sandy, and Corey saw that. Sandy started to rub his neck and shoulders.

SarahFuller: Matthew, you take on to much. It worries me.
ArmyManDavid: It worries me too.

Connie and Sandy read that and said at the same time, "It worries us too."

EagleScoutMatthew721: I'm sorry. I guess I just miss what the three of us used to have.
ArmyManDavid: Yeah same here.
SarahFuller: I guess in a way I do. Well Adam has dinner ready, I have to go.
ArmyManDavid: Yeah, I better get some shut eye. I have an early flight out tomorrow morning.
EagleScoutMatthew721: Bye mom. Bye dad.
SarahFuller: Bye Matthew. Bye David.
ArmyManDavid: Bye Son. Bye Sarah.
