Well, I don't believe life is that bleak. Even though life is about bumps. I know this because I have have had some great successes (graduating at the top of my college class) and defeats (diagnosed with Wegener's Granulomatosis). It is what you do with life that makes it happy or bleak. Or how a character or person reacts to conflict. :-)

I could see the scene in my head. I think if you turned it into fiction, it would have some real power. :-)... I can see a whole series, etc. Actually I like paranormal, so I would probably put in the male priesthood wrapped around water witching ... My grandfather was an elder and a "water witch."

Some of the elements of mormon life are really surreal. :-)

It was probably too close to you... I know that if I wrote my story even fictionalized, I would have problems, too.
