Julia  by CeeCee

The sweet smell of cinnamon tickled Julia's nose as she took her famous rolls out of the oven. It was a recipe her mother taught her, and all of her sisters.

"Smells good." Her husband said entering their newly renovated kitchen.

She watched him sit at their kitchen table, and pull out his newspaper as he did every morning. She began buttering the rolls just the way he liked them, and prepared his plate.

"Thankyou." He said after she sat his plate infront of him.

"Your welcome." She said offering a smile.

She sat across from him, and began eating her breakfast hoping this time they would have a conversation at the table. Everytime he cleared his throat she looked up anticipating the words that would follow...but there were never any.

She watched him take a few bites of his cinnamon roll fold up his newspaper, and get up from the kitchen table.

"Well I will see you later." He said without even looking at his wife, and with that he was gone.

Julia slid her plate across the table in frustration, and layed her head down. Her tears fell down her cheek, and leaked onto the cold glass table.

"My marriage is falling apart." She said wiping her tears away.

"I just don't know what to do anymore." She explained to her bestfriend Veronica.

She had decided to go over Veronica's house for lunch that day, and winded up sitting around and talking for hours.

Veronica rolled her eyes, and continued to sip on her iced coffee.

"Come on Veronica help me out here!" Julia begged.

"I told you Martin was an **** before you married him." Veronica said.

"I know...but you don't know him like I know him Vee. He can be so incredibly sweet." Julia explained.

"Yeah...like he's being now?" Veronica asked sarcastically. "Look if you want to get his attention why don't you spice things up a bit in the bedroom? Wear something sexy...suprise him!" She suggested.

Julia sat back and pondered over Veronica's idea for a moment. 'Could this really work?' She thought. She wanted nothing more than to get Martin's attention, and if she had to spice things up in their bedroom to do that...she would.

"Good idea." Julia finally said. "When did you get all this new artwork?" She asked looking around Veronica's condo. Julia knew she needed to change the subject quickly before Veronica began her usual rant about how much she dislikes Martin.

"Girl I got this stuff awhile ago you just haven't been here to see it!" Veronica said. "We need more girls night outs Julia. Ever since you got married things have changed."

Julia sometimes believed Veronica was jealous that she had gotten married, and didn't have her all to herself anymore and that may have been why she hates Martin so much.

"I know...your right. We do need to have more girls nights out." Julia agreed. "Well let me go I need to run to the store before Martin gets home." Julia said taking her car keys out of her purse.

Julia wanted to go to the store to pick up some lingere, and a few items Martin might enjoy for the bedroom. Hopefully this would work, and get her marriage back on track. She remebered when she and Martin use to be happy, and were unseperable, now it's like two strangers sharing a bed.

She wanted things to change, and she would do anything to make that happen. She wanted her husband back, and the good marriage she once had.
