Prom Night

Hold me close on this special night
wind rustles your hair as seagulls take flight
So many faces, all I see is you
surrounded by so many hues of blue
you put loving arm around me
as we take a picture by anemones
a flower on your chest and some on my wrist
I smell the breeze of the shore as we kiss
the splash of the sea is cold as ice
I shiver in the boat and you hug me tight
You wear a lilac tie and a lilac vest
both to match my lilac dress
music blares loud but I cannot hear
for your whisper plays sweetly in my ear.
Take my hand and never let go
what this night means to me you'll never know
for this mem'ry will die, or so it may seem
but this night will live on forever in my dreams.
