Shadowmaster  by BigBen

Once in a while there is a second or two when we feel like real kids. It's a brief flash, a short glimpse of something so preposterous it's not even worth thinking about. But even if it's two seconds, we don't let it go unnoticed. Those short feelings, those interventions, they at least give us the courage that there may be a chance for us.

I've been hiding for a decade now. Some of the others have been here twice as long as I have, and now their pledged into protection of us younger ones. It all started when the world initiated a nuclear world against each other and the few of us that survived started rebuilding. But the adults wanted to repopulate. To regrow. They took kids and inserted them in their 'program'. Those that got away went into hiding.

And that's who we are. The survivors. The Shadowmasters.
