Chapter Two

One day Adam and Eve were in the garden of Edan,and Eve said she wanted to go with her girlfriend Cindy,to gather fruit and vegetables at the outer efge of the garden. Adam said,"Are you sure you don't want me and Steve to go with you? Eve said."No,we'll be okay." Eve and Cindy went off into the forest to gather fruits and vegetables. It wasn't long before they heard a noise,it sounded like something was rustling around in the bushes. Then a long,narrow creature appeared. It was a snake.

Eve said, "'Oh! You startled me!" The snake laughed,and said "Are you talking to me?" Eve said yes. The snake said."Have you ever wondered why animals can talk at all? When God created animals,he didn't make it possibnle for them to talk. I was the one who altered their DNA and made it possible for them to talk." Cindy said,"Who are you? What is your name?" The snake said. My name is Sam the snake . You can call me Sam." Cindy said,"Hello,Sam. What are you doing here in the garden of Eden?" The snake said,I 'm altering the DNA in some of these plants to transform them into narcotic plants." Eve said,"What does that mean?" The snake said,"When God created these plants,he intended them as sources of food. Most of them are edible,likethe fruits and vegetables that you eat,but I was altering some plant species to make them into plants that produce drugs. I call them 'narcotic' plants." 

Cindy asked,"What do you do with narcotic plants?  Do you eat them?" The snake laughed and said,"Yes,you do! Would you like to try one?" Eve and Cindy said yes,and the snake showed them where they could find narcotic plants. Eve and Cindy ate the narcotic plants and in a few minutes they were intoxicated. In their intoxicated state they became lost and it was many hours before they found their way back to Adam and Steve.

Eve and Cindy greeted Adam and Steve,and soon Adam and Steve realized that something was wrong with Eve and Cindy. Adam asked,"Are you girls all right?" Eve said,"Yeah,we're all right." Adam asked,"where have you been? We have been very worried about you. You were gone longer than we expected. Did you get lost or something?" Even said,"No,we met someone. His name was Sam,and we were talking to him." Cindy said,"Yeah,Sam is a really intersting creature! His body is totally stripped down to it's essentials! He's got no arms,and no legs,just a head,and a long,long tail! That's all he needs,just a brain and a spinal cord! A complete minimalist body!" 

Adam and Steve left the girls alone,and talked to each other in private. Adam asked Steve,"What do you think we should do?" Steve said,"I don't know. Eve and Cindy are acting strange,I've never seen them act this way before. I wonder if something happened to them." Adam said "Yes,that's right! Cindy talked about a creature with a long,narrow body. What do you think that was all about?" Steve said,"I don't know,but it sounds like that snake that God was talking about. Do you remember a long time ago,when God spoke to us,he said that there was a snake here in the garden of Eden,and the snake would try to lead us into temptation?" Adam said,"Yes,I remeber that. Let's go talk to the girls."

Adam and Steve went back to Eve and Cindy,and spoke to them. Adam asked Eve if they saw a snake out there. Eve said "Yes,his name was Sam! His name was Sam the snake!" Steve asked,"What did Sam say to you?" CIndy said,"He told up about the narcotic plants that he was making!" Adam said,"Okay,you girls should take a nap,and rest. You might feel better when you wake up." Eve and Cindy laid down and fell asleep. Adam and Steve spoke to each other while the two women slept.

Adam said,"I think the snake that our wives saw was Satan. God said that Satan can change himself into varous forms,to fool people." Steve said,"Yes,that's right. I remember that. God told us that Satan was evil. We should kill him!" Adam said,"What are you talking about?" Steve said,"We should kill that snake before he corrupts our wives!" Adam said,"No,that's impossible! How can we kill one of God's creatures? Steve said,"The snake is not very big. We could get a rock and smash his head with a rock! That would kill him!" Adam said,"Yes,that sounds possible." At that moment there was the sound of thunder from heaven,and in a shining cloud,God appeared.

God roared at them. "That was your first mistake!",shouted God. Adam said,"What? What did we do?" God said,"It is a sin to kill! You have already planned to kill the snake! The desire to kill is in your hearts! If the desire to kill is in your hearts,then you are already guilty of a sin!" Steve said,"But we wanted to kill the evil snake! The snake is evil!" Adam said,"Yes,there was a snake named Sam that talked to our wives,he was trying to corrupt our wives!" God said,"That was Satan! His name wasn't Sam,it was Satan!" Adam said"If Satan is evil,shouldn't we kill him?" God said,"No! You must remain calm,in the face of evil! Do not kill Satan,you must show that you are morally superior to him! You must resist the temptations that he lures you with! If you wanted to pick up a rock and kill him,then the desire to kill hs already entered your heart!" Adam and Steve told God they were sorry. God said,"Do not be afraid. You must resist the temptation to kill. If you face Stan in the future,face him with courage in your heart,not with thoughts of violence. Be wise!" And with that,God disappeared.
