The story so far:
The Tsar allowed Rasputin to take a bath and he gave Rasputin a new set of clothes to wear. Wearing a fine suit of clothes, Rasputin looked exotic. Rasputin had long hair like a Hippie (although this was more than fifty years before the hippies appeared. Rasputin looked lke a Hippie at a time when the Hippies hadn't even been born yet!), and a long beard. The Tsar invited Rasputin to have dinner with him. Rasputin was led into a huge room. "This is the royal dining room", explained the Tsar. Rasputin looked at the items on the table. The knives, forks, and spoons were made of gold. Soon, a fine meal was served. The ladies seated around the royal table giggled at Rasputin, and his crude manners.
After dinner, wine was served. After drinking many glasses of wine, Rasputin spoke of Siberia, and he entertianed the Tsar with stories of Siberian peasant life. The Tsar and the members of the royal court were amused by this strange guest. The Tsar was so impressed with Rasputin that he allowed Rasputin to stay in the royal guest room in the palace. The palace guards were upset about this. They pleaded with the Tsar to make Rasputin leave, but the Tsar just laughed, and told the guards that Rasputin could stay. Rasputin spent many days at the Tsar's palace, getting drunk every night, and entertaining the Tsar and the members of the Tsar's royal court with stories of Siberian peasant life.
