"A Dark Wind"

A Dark Wind ch.2  by AndrewLamar
She sat at the kitchen table, a red lipstick smothered grin from ear to ear, hands folded in her lap. The aroma of her perfume mixed with the aroma of the meatloaf on table. The smell made Gary envision himself taking a cleaver to her face, and burying her under the floor boards. Gary grinned as he sat down to the table."And what are you smiling about handsome?", Linda crooned. If only you knew bitch, Gary thought to himself, if only you knew." One of the guys told a joke at work today", Gary lied,"a real riot. Something about blacks and watermelon. Vulgar stuff babe, you wouldn't want to hear". Dropping her own grin, Linda began to serve the meatloaf and mash potatoes. "Well, my day was pleasant", Linda perked,"until I seen the holes Bruno left in the yard again. I swear, somebody should really have a talking to with the Thompsons! With that dog around, nobodies garden is safe". the meatloaf on the table, was no longer a meatloaf for Gary. It became Bruno, with a side of Linda's tongue. How delishious indeed."Yea", Gary dazed off,"somebody should really do something about that dog". The plop of a fat slice of meatloaf on Gary's plate snapped him back to reality. As Linda dropped a scoop of mash potatoes on to Gary's plate(with some landing on the meatloaf. The unneatiness almost sends him in to a frenzy), Linda found her smile again. "So handsome, any surprises planned for tomorrow?", She teased. Grabbing his fork, Gary shoveled down a chunk of meatloaf. "Not to my knowledge", said Gary without a second thought. Linda's face instantly turned in to a frown, all signs of perkiness drained from her face. She picked up her fork, and began eating her meal. Gary had stomached as much of the charade as he could take. Dropping his fork,"Oh honey, you know what, I have to make a quick run to the mall. They got a couple of new shops I want to check out". Linda's cheered up a little,"Gary, I knew you wouldn't forget". Forget what you bitch?, Gary thought. "You've forget alot of things Gary. But I knew our 12th anniversary was still in your heart", said Linda. Gary forgot and wished he hadn't been reminded."Sure baby", Gary stood up from the table,"12th. Real important. Got cha. I should be back later". Linda almost giggled as she clasped her hands to her chest,"Ok handsome. I'll be up waiting for you!". Gary ignored her celebration, making his way back to his car. Earlier, he hadn't decided where to execute his fun tonight. But the answer had come sure enough. Oh wait, Gary thought, can't forget that. Opening the closet by the front door, Gary dialed a code in to a black safe. It clicked open. The roll of razor wire, the cleaver, and the pistol all lay there waiting for him. My friends, Gary thought, time to play again.
