The Replacement
by Amham19
This is it. My moment. My one and only chance. My time to shine. My gymnastics competition. This is it.
I put my foot in front of me and put my hands up to prepare for my back walkover. I bent back as I raised my foot. My hands touched the beam and they slipped. I went crashing down and landed on my left ankle. I heard a loud SNAP!
I could see people from the audience come running towards me, including the paramedics.
I could hear someone yelling my name. It called "Amy!"
Then I saw who was calling me. It was my mom. She was pushing past everyone in her way and elbowing the people in her way.
She finally got to me and knelt next to me. "Amy. Amy! Are you alright? Can you hear me?"
That was the last thing I heard before I fell unconcious. The next thing I knew, I was in the hospital.
