Late Revelation A Poem  by Althorian

As I turn, I comprehend pain,

Moments before the knife

Pierced my soul.

I drifted through light,

As part of it.

Yet, my mind, my conscience,

Kept me separated from it.

Then the light embraced me.

It showed me

All that I had done

What I could have done,

What I should’ve done.

It was then I learnt about who I was.

But I know my revelation,

Had come too late.

Then the darkness enveloped me.

I fell into a realm of shadow and flame,

Filled with remorse,

But no-one seemed to know what for.

In that moment I knew,

I couldn’t escape.

The flames grew within me.

And I knew no more.
