Nice! You clearly express the idea of missed opportunity, wanting love, but having lost faith to the extent of no seeing it as it comes near, than completely dropping this love at it approaches. In the last few lines, it is not clear if the love turned out not to be right, or if it is merely too good to be true, and thus given up on without a real start, but I feel that is the overriding, haunting question of the whole poem, so it is probably the perfect ending. Nice work. |
