People always ask ‘why’
I ask ‘why’ every day
Every day I live with dismay
Confused by cruelty
Why be cruel?
The lack of loyalty
Why not be loyal? 

Does anyone care about me?
Or do they not even see
That I’m human
That I can feel everything
Everything they throw
At me
Every insult that hits low
In my heart

I hate everyone
But I still crave affection
Something other than rejection
Someone see me
Someone set me free
Or end my misery
