Hello All, I'd like to introduce Project Giant Rock. It's on the main page at the moment but it will be moved to the Projects Page shortly. I need seven people to write this story from beginning to end... The first seven people who respond to this post will be the authors, and they'll write their chapters in the order they respond.

Dear TBH, rock, hebe, john, chloe and foo: Are you guys interested in collusion? I think we can produce a much tighter story that way.

How would the logistics work? I'm intrigued, something new.

I don't know. Maybe we kick stuff around by email, or on a google doc or some other collaboration site so everyone can help shape the framework. Like a writing room for television. then if, for example, rocklee or hebe wants an element introduced in chapter one for his upcoming chapter, he can ask theblackhand to fit it in somewhere.

Then TBH writes his first draft, and gets comments from the other authors, then a second draft which he puts up on SM for general comments and modifications, then he publishes and hands rocklee the baton.

Each author has ultimate say over his chapter, but nobody is stuck with all the pressure. This may be especially helpful for TBH and chloe who have to start it up strong, and finish it off clean, respectively.

Collusion is a great idea and will eliminate alot of pressure. It will give evryone the chance to collaborate and create a great story. Good call wolfram.

Lets communicate through email to keep it amongst ourselves for now.

When we are ready for draft postings then we can get feedback from other authors before we publish a finished chpt.

...soooo are you asking for us to make the story in to one of collusion or are you asking us to collude with you? lol jking but I still have no idea what you mean :O.

We can coordinate some of the looser elements of the story like basic characters, plot arcs, POV, etc. It will be hard enough trying to craft a good story with 7 different styles and approaches, but this can help us avoid some of the involuntary pitfalls of the TSNK story.

Well I'm still not sure as to how this should be continued. Good thing I'm second lol.

i'm just thankin little baby jesus that i'm writing somewhere in the middle,ill already have some great characters to work with and have some idea of a plot, and wolfram i think working in collusion would be okay all the afore mentioned topics, it would make it a lot easier to craft a tighter story that way, and avoid big **** plot holes.

Hey gang! So it looks like we have all seven spots filled. I'm so excited! If you're down with working together on this you can email me at melissa@storymash.com and I'll get your email to wolfram. That way nobody has to post it on the site if you don't want to. Just to make sure I know who you are, put your SM name in the subject line.

Once I get the addresses, I will email everyone so we can create a temporary mailing list and discuss a better method of collaboration. This project is going to take some time, and I'd like to encourage lots of discussion, without lots of Inbox clutter.

Sounds fun, never did sci-fi so whooopeeeee! Is there a time frame for this or does the creative process dictate that?(lol)

Fantastic ideas everyone. Collusion is the only way to create a cohesive story line. I'll send my email along to honey. I was wondering if a wikipage would work for a 'forum site.' I have a wiki page for my students and I know it's free to create a personal one...hmmm? It's an ever evolving webpage so it might just work. I'll check it out and get back to you all if you want me to. Foo

Hey guys. I just created a wikipage for us for this project. We don't have to use it, if you guys don't like it, or think we need something different, but in my opinion, there is no other greater page to collaborate on our story than an ever evolving wiki. Just an idea. I could only add those whose emails are posted here, as writers (I know that honey is getting everyone's emails together) but for now, check you email box and follow my link/instructions to the wiki. Hey rocklee...I am trying to see if everyonen is onboard to use the wiki page I created for our forum. Everyone needs to give their opinion on it. I missed the boat for this one, but is anything happening with Giant Rock? Usually big projects go a couple chapters before fizzling out. Everyone too busy submitting contest entries and chapter 10s?

Looking for opinions on Chapter 2 - I want to add to it still before adding it to the site, but I've had only one opinion expressed on the wiki site... Anyone wanna give their thoughts so I don't write us into a dead end right away?
