Welcome to the kick-start for Project Giant Rock!

This is a seven-chapter sci-fi project. The beginning chapter can be found here: http://storymash.com/u/honeygloom/giwakeno/ The first five chapters have already been written. The last two chapters are currently assigned to Wolfram and Crystalfoo, respectively.

If you are interested in this project, I recommend you read the beginning chapter and the five chapters that have already been posted to get an idea of where the project stands now.

Here are the guidelines:

The originally signed-up authors will have two weeks to respond. If you want your chapter, or if you want to stick with the project, but want a different chapter, let me know. The original authors will have first dibs.

Once the two weeks are up, any unclaimed chapters will be open to all Storymash writers on a first come, first serve basis.

I will make an announcement here as soon as all the chapters are claimed. After that announcement, it is expected that the chapters will be posted in a timely manner, with “timely” being defined as about three weeks. If you need more time, let us know, but if you are taking an excessive amount of time to post your chapter, it will be given to someone else.

It will be expected that the chapter will:
• Remain faithful to the intent of the project,
• Proceed logically from the previous chapter(s), and
• Demonstrate at least a basic grasp of grammar, punctuation, and spelling

If you feel that you cannot meet these expectations, or cannot write and post a single chapter within three weeks of time, then this project is not for you.

That said, this is not an Aggelarchy. If you feel that these guidelines are inappropriate or unfit, let me know. I will listen to all suggestions and ideas that are presented in a reasonable, rational manner and will gladly change these guidelines if there is a valid reason to do so.

So to you original authors: You have until January 11, 2010, to post your intent to stay with this project (or not). If we do not hear from you, your chapter will be placed up for grabs.

This is really depressing. I really wish I could jump on this one, but I can't, I'm absolutely swamped right now. :(

I'm really looking forward to reading what people come up with. So no pressure or anything. ;)

Ahh...ACE...I know you can do it...

I'm kinda on a roll right now w/ PRPF, but, that being said, if it comes down to nothing (again), I'll look into it again. Honestly don't even remember what it's about, lol, but I'll check in to it to get caught up, just in case.

Thanks for being willing to check back here! We only need one person to take chapter 6 to get this project finished up... Any takers? Anyone?

I'm not going to lie: writing this chapter was exceptionally hard for me. For a long time I thought I'd have to throw in the towel, but I scraped through somehow. I hope that it is at least an enjoyable read.
