I need ten authors for the ‘Around the World In Ten Chapters’ Project. It’s a scavenger hunt that takes place all over the world. I’ll start off by giving you the item and location for the first chapter. The author of the first chapter will establish the characters in the hunt and, after writing their chapter, will in turn give the item and location for the next writer. The author of the second chapter will give the item and location for the third and so on down the line until the last chapter. The author of the last chapter gets to decide if our protagonist(s) win or lose. Remember the crazier the item and location you leave for the next writer, the harder they will have to work so have fun and be creative.

Real life attacks frequently on SM and writers have to bow out of projects so having alternates has worked out really well if you're ok with that...

Once again, reality has interupted my perfect SM dream world. I won't be able to join in the fun, and I was really looking forward to all these projects Honey! They were such great ideas! But, well yeah, I can't have any fun for awhile. The best I can do is maybe check in and leave wonderful comments every now and then. I'll be back full force next week though.

Dang, this project sure died a quick and untimely death! Or is it merely in a coma? Honey, could you please kick some butt? Maybe, whomever is next, (shadinah?) could come on line and tell us she can't get to it right now and the next in line moves up...and on and on until we get a writer for chapter 2. I guess everyone's scared to death at following nash or something? LOL

I am so sorry guys - we've had some nasty disasters at work that have kept me up long nights. I have 75% of the chapter finished, and will do my best to have it done by tomorrow night.

Hrmmmm. Cant say i've ever tried, but that wouldnt stop me. Just know that I have a very... shall we say morbid(?), approach to most of my fiction. So if that could work, i'd be honored :).

Oh wow. just took a look at the Penny Dreadful stories. Think i'd be more suited to the horror, if such is possible. Intense gore is my forte, hehe, just read my Ch.2 of Freerunner :).

i would just like to say that for all of these chapters, you dont necessarily have to describe how the thing was taken, just the fact that it was taken. for example, if someone was about to make their move to steal it and got inside and the place was empty... just saying...

honeygloom, I hate to do this but I am bowing out of the monster project. I have read several versions of the Penny Dreadful style, and it just doesn't fit my style of writing. I would hate to contribute a chapter to a project that I feel I won't do any justice too.
I am sorry if this causes any problems....

So... this project hasn't tanked, has it? It's been over a week since chapter two was posted, but it isn't appearing on the project page, and I haven't heard any talk about chapter three. Come on, I want to hear about Egypt!

I know I'm going to sound a little impatient, but what is taking so long with getting this next chapter written guys? I thought Neo was on top of it, but it doesn't even show up as being a draft yet on the project page! Neo I hope everything is ok and that you aren't like dying because i'd feel bad for it, but please get this done man!

While most writers here seem to have given up on this and the other projects, including me until now, THIS one has a great lineup of writers and started off so well that it's simply a shame to see it die.

I agree! I have been checking this thing weekly, hoping to see the continuation of this thing. So sad to see it dying such a pitiful death. Please, please, please continue this project!

This summer has really whomped me a hard one. I'm starting to recover and catch up on project and procrastinating getting others done (like laundry... did you know laundry doesn't actually need to be folded after it's washed in order to be worn?).

I apologize for my long absence from the site... this is the first chance I've had to check the site in several weeks and am actually shocked to see that it's still my turn. I *promise* to have this done in the next day or two.

LOL...I did know that about laundry and, in case you haven't discovered this little tidbit, yet: underwear doesn't need to be ironed, either!!!

Nor do I, ever since the incident when I tried ironing it while wearing it. Some life lessons are more painful than others. (Thankfully I learned after only seven tries.)

Iron is an element on the periodic chart - but you used it as a verb. I don't get it... :P

'Ironing out a problem' is a common, if not, metaphoric usage of the root word...iron. Refers to the iron and the ironing board. My dad always tried to straighten me out...he shoulda used an iron...upside my head. Upside...now there's a word.

Haha, now I remember why I miss having WWB around LOL! How is everybody? Well, much to my dismay, Honeygloom, I need to drop my slot in this project because for once I'm focusing all my time and energy right now into this novel I'm writing. Let me know if thats a problem, ok?

Sometimes I wonder where you guys find the time to come up with some of this, but then I remember, Oh yeah! We're all authors and we have to do something in our spare time LOL jk.

I guess that by being (the last living) a newbie on this site, and after seeing the dates on some of these replies and comments posted, I feel as if I may be the last one on the planet. So, if I should find that I am reading my own material over again, please disregard this notice to yourself, that is unless you have a better comment to yourself than the last one you, yourself, posted. Am I crazy or what? I will be, that is, if I'm the only one left on the planet!

Count me in! I don't care where I am put (although I would hope I'm not last). I can think of a few ideas for it and how to continue the story. I will be on frequently since NaNoWriMo is coming up. I will be writing a lot and can count this towards my word goal for November.

Actually cancel that. I can't do it. I have family issues this month and can't make it. Sorry!

I'm obviously new to this site, but the notion of participating in this project is very exciting. Seeing as how the last chapter remains open, I would be honored, eager, and incredibly happy to be able to write it! But in all seriousness--really--I wanna' do it; I can do it, there's one space left, just give it to me. It seems that everyone is ready to get the ball rolling, so what's up? If it helps with the decision making, I'll send whoever is in charge of this thing a sample of my writing.
