Not really. Actually, this is a project to end all the old unfinished projects, or at least, as many of them as we can. I'm calling on the golden oldies, I'm calling on dirt-behind-the-ears newbies, I'm calling on any and all STORYMASHers to come help us finish these fantastic projects. These are great stories with great chapters. They just need a few more chapters to be done, and then we can all feel good about them. For the oldies out there, this is a chance to finish up an old storyline that maybe contains a great chapter you've written. Don't you hate it when you contribute something you really like and the project stalls, staying unfinished forever? I know I do. Here's your chance to finish up a story with your chapter in it. For the newbies, here's a chance to contribute to some of the best stories on the site, and get attention from the best/oldest writers on SM. Get your name out there on the site. Come on, don't get nervous or hesitate from lack of experience, just take a chance, we won't bite, I promise. Errr...We won't bite very hard, at least. Maybe you write a terrible chapter, but hell, the story continues at least and you'll get some great criticism and comments. Also, I don't care if you already have a chapter in one of the projects. We just need to get these done! I'm going off the official Projects page, as the projects forum is filled with unofficial projects and contest threads that I simply cannot go through all. So let's begin. SUDS: This is a great story that is halfway done. 3/6 chapters have been written. It is about a boy who grows and makes papyrus, his small village, his female monk customer, and a girl shapeshifting monster who currently resides in the boy's fields. I'll even give a rundown of the plot so far. Boy notices papyrus looks strange, suspects crocodile. Him and his friend go check, see strange monster which runs away. Go to village and pray, someone in village gets killed. Village believes it is the monster in the fields and assembles a hunting party. I NEED 3 WRITERS TO WRITE THE NEXT 3 CHAPTERS 4,5,6. YOU MUST WRITE YOUR CHAPTER IN ONE WEEK OR YOU WILL BE IMMEDIATELY REPLACED. FIRST CHAPTER: Onwards. Next up is Project Zorro. Description: "your story must include Diego, a ten year old with a taste for adventure, a flair for disguise, and a taste for justice, his wise and methodical sidekick Bernardo, pirates, and a band of gypsies". 2/7 chapters have been written, the first is a poem to start and the second is prose. Take to it, it's a great fun little read! Most of us probably don't have experience writing fiction for children so here's a chance to try something new! I NEED 5 WRITERS FOR ZORRO! CHAPTERS 3,4,5,6,7. GIVE THIS LITTLE BOY-HERO A CHANCE! First chapter- http://storymash.com/u/WBScott/kafebebi/ Next: Alright, this one is pretty complicated, with intricate characters, twists and turns and such. Someone somewhere might still have notes for it, but let's be honest, if you are noble and brave enough to take a chapter, nobody is going to care if you make a continuity mistake or two, so let's get to it. Six great chapters have been written, only need four more to finish. 6/10. It's a great story so far, just needs a few more courageous writes willing to enter the breach. I NEED 4 WRITERS FOR CHAPTERS 7,8,9,10. COME ONE, COME ALL, FOR SOME SERIOUS INTERNATIONAL INTRIGUE! First Chapter: http://storymash.com/u/nashvillebecker/furanimu/ Next up: The Medias Saga Come on, our hero needs an ending. I NEED 4 WRITERS FOR CHAPTERS 7,8,9,10 FOR THIS EPIC HEROIC SAGA. COME BE A PART OF AN EPIC STORY. First Chapter: http://storymash.com/u/Houlgrave/savoteta/ This is what I propose. You can check the Projects page for more (somewhat outdated) information. Pick a storyline, pick a chapter, and start writing! I would ask, if you are one of the first to show interest in a storyline, pick the immediate chapter needed to continue a story, if only so we can get some momentum going. Come on guys, these are great stories. Get in on them. |

It isn't a project, but a storyline I'd like to see finished is Theblackhand's "I have 30 Days to Live". Just throwing that out there... http://storymash.com/u/theblackhand/pohumalu/ |

I had an idea to start a thread just for storylines various authors wanted to see an ending for. I think it would just be good to increase the amount of 'finished' stories on SM. |

I think so, too. I'll post another storyline I'd like to see finished when I come across one. My suggestion for the thread is that you can't suggest your own original chapter, but it can be one you've worked on. What do you think? It won't take long... |

I can think of many. Death Benefit, Crockpot, and No hero comes right to mind. I didn't wrap up all the stories from the first flight, and the second flight only has one storyline wrapped up. I do have a finish for A Winter's Fail on my computer, but its such a weak ending that I hadn't published it. |

Ahh yes, the reinvigorate the projects projects. Last time that happened we completed a couple of stagnant projects, but if memory serves me correct one Cheeseliker bailed out on Chapter 4 of project: Around the World. |

A great start so far! New chapters added to SUDS and Around the World! And it seems Nash may be taking on chapter 3 or 5 of Project Zorro. He says 5 in his comment, but the next chapter up is 3, so hopefully thats the one he's taking on. |

Nope. I'm sticking with #5. Buy two (3 and 4), get one free. |

Sometimes, the best way to fix a story that seems a bear to follow, is to go back a few paces and start again. After reading the two existing chapters for project Zorro, and some recent comments made regarding them, I've tried my hand at an alternative chapter two. If this new chapter somehow offers more inspiration for others to continue and finish the story, hurray. If not, it was a fun exercise in writing for children. This alternate chapter is short, but it does set up conflict and a "mission" for the young protagonist. |

Hey JD, Really liked your chapter. Really sets the beginning well. What we really need is someone to go for chapter 3, then they can decide which chapter they wish to follow. |

After receiving some delightful feedback from fellow Mashers, I've published the above chapter, titled: "Cabbage Soup." |
