As a suggestion for those who want to exercise a different set of writing muscles, National Novel Writer's Month is November. (http://www.nanowrimo.org/) It's an opportunity to push yourself through writing 50K words and hopefully piecing together something of substance. I'm giving it a go. Should you be dumb enough to charge into the project, lemme know in December and I'll look it up.

Hey, I also will be giving it a second go. Last year I sputtered around 15,000 words. We'll see how this one goes.

Well, I floundered around 20k. Ah well, November isn't the greatest month for college students...

20,000 is still a great accomplishment, Cheese. Congratulations!!!

51,241 words. Ended up writing a non-fiction, bloggish, memoirish, love letter to my wife. Saved myself money Christmas shopping too. Whee.

My intent is to get a chapter or three up in the next week, but mice and men have intents too, and mice like Cheese and Cheeseliker is a man, and this paragraph is a run-on and I'm gone for the day

Well, fellow Mashers, I did it. I signed up for NaNoWriMo this year.

I know Nash mentioned in another forum thread his participating this year. Anyone else take the plunge?

I got 36000 words. Another failure. Guh. Still fun.

I got up to about 29,000...but actually finished my first draft, so not a total failure.

Taking the plunge once again. Anyone else out there signing up this year?

Congratulations!!! I...didn't make it this year. At all. Sickness and the holidays just got a hold of me.

People keep telling me I should write a book, and I keep telling them I write scripts and short stories. Then I ask myself, why not? Then I don't do it. Grrr.
