A lot of what I write is flash fiction, the "short short". I post it here for comment and review, but the pieces really are meant to stand for/by themselves as complete works. I certainly welcome people using my work as a springboard for their own, taking the characters in new directions, that sort of thing. But I'm not sure how to indicate to folks when a piece is NOT something I'm going to be adding on to. |

It should be obvious to the readers, but if not you can do a few things. I suggest adding a comment to your work that says something along the lines of "this chapter was not intended to be added on to." Maybe at the end of your chapter you can add: |

Is it really necessary to NOT have people adding to your work? I should think it wouldn't really matter one way or the other. It's not like you have to work off of what they put up... You don't even have to read it. |

I think he means he doesn't want people to think he will be adding on to his own work, which is no problem. Nobody quite expects you to, so I don't think anything extra is needed, just post your chapter and go. |

For my own clarification purposes, I usually ad the first comment ot my work, indicating what the purpose is....it's a poem or for a project. |
